Turn up the volume to hear music.

Loretta Markell: Privacy is important to me but being a Libra on the cusp of Scorpio I am divided between wanting to be alone and wanting attention. You cannot create meaningful art if you are always running around meeting people. The social media like Facebook, twitter and blogs help solve that problem. My first venture into the art world was in my 40's when I decided to take a sculpture class---That led to a life drawing class, then I learned art photography. That was before everything was digital. The non-silver processes and the dark room appealed to my Scorpio side as magical and places of mystery. Then Libra stepped in and I became a docent at the Detroit Institute of Arts for close to twenty years. Within that period I went to Wayne State University and got a M.F.A. and have been making art ever since.
